Sculptural objects & vases

playfull and functional things

Sculptural vases with a totemic presence, balancing between the familiar and the unknown. Their organic yet structured forms suggest echoes of an ancient past, or perhaps a future yet to come. Designed to evoke curiosity and wonder, each piece serves as both an art object and a functional form, blending seamlessly into any space that appreciates the mysterious and the unconventional

These handcrafted ceramic vases, created using the coil technique, blur the line between functional decor and enigmatic art objects.

ABOUT

Vutru is a multidisciplinary artist based in Prague. During her studies at Academy of Fine art in Prague, she discovered a work with a clay.

When she designing a piece, she likes to combine these two opposite concepts. Modelling symmetrical objects with strict rules or fluidy organic shapes. Vutru sees her creations as hybrid creatures, across between historical, modern and futuristic.

She is inspired by the act of creation. Using the coil technique, she stretch, push, and guide the clay until the forms start to take on their own dynamic, suggesting their path. It's a collaboration between her and the material, where decisions emerge naturally, often without conscious awareness.

With a background in art and design, Vutru brings to her practice an innate creative sensibility and a profound visual understanding. She was drawn to the creative freedom and the physicality of the medium where she has found her own expression.
